TGIF!!! Let them eat Greedyboy cake!!

So the story goes….Well cake, not so much greedyboy cake.

But it is said that Marie Antoinette did not actually say that famous line.

I suppose we will never know.

Speaking of Marie-Antoinette, I saw her sons heart, Its in a crypt in St Denis in Paris…..

But that’s a story for another day.

This is definitely a day for a  greedyboy cake!!

Mmm big chunks of choc….

But let us eat cake, as its Friday, its been a LONG week and we need something FABULOUS to kick away the dregs of a crappy Friday!!

So without further ado….Lets make Chocolate, vanilla and banana ring cake…

In all honesty, I need a Mississippi mud cake , we are talking serious choc here but don’t have all the ingredients:(

But a lovely moist banana and choccie cake will hit the spot………with a hint of vanilla.

So without any further ado…LETS GET CAKEY!!

Lovely cake…

130 g softened butter

150g of castor sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla essence

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 cup of warmed milk

2-3 mashed bananas

1 cup of chocolate chips/ chunks

Pinch of salt

2 and 1/2 cups of Pure flour.

Whip that butter and sugar!!

What do you do?

Place butter and sugar in a bowl and beat until pale and creamy.

Add eggs, one at a time and mix until well combined.

Add in mashed banana  and vanilla.

Sift in flour, baking powder and salt, don’t mix yet!!

Warm milk and then stir in baking soda, then add to the bowl and stir all ingredients until well combined.

Preheat oven to 180 celsius.

Fold in the chocolate chips/chunks and spoon into a well-greased and lined baking tin.

Place in oven and bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown and skewer test is clean:)

Pop that cake in the oven

Remove from oven when ready and if in a ring tin(like mine) allow to cool for 20 + minutes before carefully removing.

I would wait at least 10-15 minutes with most tins as this is VERY moist.

Not stodgy, moist:)

Allow to cool fully and then you can ice with a lemon icing or a chocolate vanilla butter icing.

You can as I do and dust with icing sugar and eat as is…..

If you are like me and too greedy to wait or too lazy to make the icing …

It is up to you but when you are ready , slice a piece and ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!!!

Cooling on the rack…

Mmmmmm Tasty….
